Cannon Box to Method 1 Year, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
Hey everyone, stoked to post something back up on here I've been gone for awhile.

Simple trick, simple image. Thats what I'm thinking when I look at this photo. It doesn't have much of any depth to it and at first I wasn't too sure but now I like it that way, it seems to bring out the shapes in the comp a bit better.

Like:
Simplicity
Fairly on point lighting(was thinking about a rim light too but a battery crapped out on me)
Text book Method(the arm is high enough so you can see the riders face)
The comp

Dislike:
I wish the snow was a lot smoother and cleaner
Should have gotten my strobe on the right a little higher to get rid of the light spot on the landing
The box is beat and it makes the image seem a little soft but the rider is tack sharp

Thanks for the comments

it looks like you over sharpened the shit out of it.

i'm not feeling the angle at all, i feel like the whole photo is just lacking anything exciting

Cool, this has potential. I think you're idea with the rim would have hugely helped the image. Not a big fan of the cropping though. And Brian's right about the oversharpening.

I think the box and snow around it are visually far stronger than the boarder. If you moved your flash(es) around so that he was brighter and the box darker it would move the focus back to him.

not really feeling it. the aspect ratio and sharpening are painful.
After that i'm not stoked on the angle; shooting park/manmade setups directly from the side for the geometry and simplicity isn't often an interesting shot, its been done to death, and on many features its not really making for a great pic.
