The lense flare is a bummer. Could fix it real quick but not sure how much manipulation is acceptable for editorial type shots. My horizon might be a bit off as well.

That flare really bothers me. If you shot a little more to the right, you could get that hand rail in. That sign that says auto repair? just wondering why you kept that in there. This shot is really well exposed though. good job.

There were a ton of cars and other crap to the right so I decided to shoot it like that. Anyone else? Oh ya and how much manipulation is accaptable. The flare and the sign could easily be cloned. I'm not sayin this shot has a chance to get published but let me know how much I could do on one that would. Thanks

i'm with colin on cloning.

I don't think the environment should ever be a justification for the overall quality of the image. Regardless of the shooting circumstances the viewer won't know and appreciate the difficulty of a shoot, they'll just see an image and judge it as sub par if it is.

move right, pan left, you'll see his footplant better, remove the crap on the left, shouldn't get flare.
I'd open up the lens more, drop out more of the bkg. also learn to shade your lens with your hand. if the sun isn't in the shot flare can always be compensated by just shading the lens.
