Wow, this is very well done. Great job on the lighting. The snow in the foreground just isn't doing it for me. Crop it out. The dark back ground is so nice, it makes the skier pop. Good job!

Brian, he's coming from the left side of the electrical box he's sliding

Steve, thanks for the kind words, I was hesitant about leaving the snow in the bottom as, but I felt like if I took it out then the straw sticking up would be odd. Maybe it's just odd in general?

P.S. Sorry for the delay in replying to the thread, I really appreciate the two of you and anyone else even taking a look at the shot let alone commenting on it. I've been spending a little too much time skiing lately here in CO vs. getting stuff done on the comp!

No, the straw really adds to the photo, with the soft focusing on it. It would be a bland photo with out that. And with the lighting on the straw it makes it stand out enough. the color combination is very well done too. But keep skiing, are you going to be shooting Gatorade Free Flow if you are in CO?

steve i'm going to go against a lot of what you are saying, personally i'm not feeling the shot.
Does the straw make the skiing look better? does the straw show some element of the stoke of skiing? not for me.
I'm having trouble understanding exactly whats going to happen, i think you need to be timed a bit later; for me i can't tell if he is nose buttering to 180/360 out, or if its a switch air. I'd like to be able to tell.
Did he jump on, or ride onto the boxes, if he jumped on its more interesting and show it!
if you were lower and closer he would be more framed against the dark trees behind him, which would help your shot a lot more too. (and make it look a bit bigger by being lower

whats with hoodie hands? can't afford gloves?

keep shooting, get stoked, be rad
