My focal lengths right now are ranging from - 10mm - 16-35mm - 50mm - 70-200mm
That means I got nothing between 35-50 and 50-70. Neither do I have an all-around zoom - which would be real nifty for trips that demands less weight and less lens changing.
I'm shooting mostly skiing/snowboarding. I ski myself, and having a heavy pack with lenses, strobes and PWs. AND/Or another pack in front with the Ranger, I'm trying to keep the weight down.
The two lenses that are on my mind right now is the 24-70 and the 24-105, Canon that is. I don't think I'm interested in any of the lenses Sigma has to offer in these focal lengths - due to bad reviews from friends etc.
The 24-105 probably is the "ultimate" allarounder. For some trips, I could probably bring only this one, and the fisheye to save weight.
Seeing as I do a very big ammount of my work with strobes, I rarely shoot at f/2.8, heck, even at f/4. So I don't know how much I will be needing the f/2.8 that the 24-70 offers.
This would be my go-to-lens for travels and stuff, so that's the only place I think I would
need f/2.8 - but then again, that will mostly be pictures for my own personal use, so I could just boost up the ISO without caring too much about noise.
How is the weathersealing compared to eatherother on the two?
Any tips or comments?
I'm shooting on a crop-camera btw. Planning on upgrading to a FF house, but I don't see that happening too soon.
